New Implemented Safety Protocols:

Pre-Screening – A member of our team will be contacting all patients who have scheduled appointments with a few questions about their current health status and potential exposure to COVID-19. These same questions will be asked again when patients arrive at our office.

Facial Coverings – In keeping with local health guidelines, we require all visitors to arrive at our office with a face mask or covering that fully covers the nose, mouth, and chin.

Hand Sanitizer – We will have alcohol-based hand sanitizer available upon arriving at our office, and we request that all visitors use it upon entry. Hand sanitizer is also located in various areas around the office that you are free to use at any time.

Restrictions to Office Entry – We ask that patients arrive at our office alone, without friends or others accompanying them, so that we can limit the number of people in the office environment at one time.

Contact-Free Temperature Checks – A member of our team will be conducting contact-free temperature checks upon arrival at our office.

More Frequent Disinfection Protocols – Our office has always taken precautions to ensure the environment is as clean and sterile as possible. We have enhanced these measures even further and are frequently disinfecting commonly touched surface areas in the lobby and restroom with EPA-registered disinfectants.

Front-Desk Sneeze Guard – We have placed a sneeze guard at the reception desk, which is a clear barrier that offers a layer of protection for both patients and our front-desk team against the possibility of breathing in air particles expelled by a sneeze or a cough in this area.

PPE Standards – Our office will be utilizing enhanced personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols during treatment.

Pre-Procedural Mouthrinse – Before each procedure, we will provide patients with a special mouthwash that contains 1.5% hydrogen peroxide. This pre-procedural mouthrinse can help reduce the transmission of viruses, bacteria, and pathogenic microorganisms. With this 30-second mouthrinse, we can reduce contamination on surfaces, dental equipment, and dental personnel in the treatment room. The SARS-CoV-2 virus (the novel coronavirus) has shown to be vulnerable to oxidation; therefore, a pre-procedural mouthrinse that consists of ingredients such as 1% hydrogen peroxide or 0.2% povidone-iodine—which are oxidative agents—is a recommended safety precaution as it can reduce the number of oral microbes that may include the coronavirus in the saliva.

Enhanced Air Quality – We have installed H13 medical-grade HEPA air purification filters throughout our office, which can remove up to 99.9% of particles (including viruses and bacteria) down to 0.1 microns.

Cold Fogging – The office is disinfected nightly utilizing an Ultra-Low Volume Cold Fogger with an advanced hypochlorous solution used in many hospitals and is an EPA-registered disinfectant to assure airborne and surface disinfection and sterilization.

Minimizing Aerosols – Our Dental Hygiene team is utilizing high-volume intraoral aspiration to minimize aerosols in the office.

Removal of Non-Essential Items in the Office Environment – Magazines, books, and other types of non-essential items are quite challenging to consistently clean and disinfect, so we have temporarily removed them from the entire office.

Staggered Appointments – We will be strategically staggering appointments to allow for more time between patient visits. This should not only reduce waiting periods, but also minimize the number of patients in the office and reception area at one time.

Appointment Management – To allow for the best possible physical distancing precautions, there may be fewer options for desired appointment times in order to accommodate a staggered appointment schedule at our office. However, we will do our very best to work with you and come up with an appointment time that is convenient for your schedule.

Credit Card Handling – To minimize the handling of credit cards, we require patients to securely leave a credit or debit card on file for all copayments and all balances that remain unpaid after insurance claims have processed.

Regular dental check-ups and treatments designed to help you maintain the health of your teeth and gums are crucial for both oral health and general health. DENTAL STUDIO SF is fully open and ready to provide you with exceptional care along with our system of updated protocols to limit the risk of coronavirus exposure while you visit our office.

Please note that we are asking patients who are experiencing a fever greater than 100.4 degrees, a cough, shortness of breath, and/or symptoms of a respiratory illness to stay home and contact their doctor immediately. Those who have recently been in contact with an individual who has tested positive for the novel coronavirus/COVID-19 and individuals who have recently traveled to and from destinations outside of the United States also may be at a higher risk of exposure, so we ask that you let us know if that applies to you before any scheduled appointments.

We are here to answer any questions and address any concerns you may have. If you wish to reschedule an appointment or if you would like to talk to one of our friendly team members about your concerns, please don’t hesitate to call us at (415) 392-5025.
